Jivesh Toor
Jivesh Toor, the founder of GENT by Jivesh Toor, is a veteran of the luxury clothing industry. Jivesh founded his initial namesake clothing line, J.TOOR, in Chicago in 2011, though his passion for menswear extended back to his time growing up in England as a child. Jivesh brought his passion and perspective to his work, providing an unrivaled custom experience for his clients. Inspired by British sartorial tradition and European style, his commitment to quality, elegance, and complete customer satisfaction made J.TOOR the ultimate destination for the modern & stylish man.

Jivesh Toor quickly became recognized as a leading authority on menswear in Chicago and the surrounding Midwest. He is one of the few certified Master Bespoke Fitter & Designers certified by the CTDA in the Midwest, and received the 2014 Rising Star Award for best up and coming Menswear Designers by Fashion Group International. After showing his debut collection at New York Fashion Week in 2013, he quickly outgrew his first J.TOOR showroom space and in 2013 opened his storefront in the 900 Shops on Michigan Avenue. In 2019 he moved into a more intimate space located on Oak Street which he closed in late 2020 due to the effects of Covid-19 and the looting riots that affected the area at that time. J.TOOR is still remembered fondly by many and referred to as one of the best independent menswear stores that Chicago had to offer.
Since that time Jivesh has continued his career as a Master Bespoke Fitter and Designer by launching GENT by Jivesh Toor, where he works individually with clients in their homes and offices to design and create bespoke garments. Jivesh is regularly featured in the Chicago Fashion Community and beyond, in publications such as GQ, CS Magazine, Michigan Ave Magazine, The Knot, and Modern Luxury Men’s Book.
